Amazon.com Product Description A 1:1 scale replica of an SG 552-style AEG rifle, this Double Eagle airsoft rifle is remarkably authentic. The rifle fires round 6mm plastic pellets known as BBs, which are propelled out of the gun through an electric battery-powered motor. The advantage of the airsoft rifle, however, is that players can safely train, simulate, or play with the gun without fearing serious injury. The airsoft rifle looks, feels, weighs, and functions just like a real SG 552, but is built for casual recreation rather than weaponized use. In fact, the only way you can typically tell a real-steel firearm from an airsoft rifle is the blazing orange tip and the BBs that fire when you pull the trigger. The replica rifle offers such features as a ni-cad rechargeable battery; a selector switch for full auto or semi-auto settings; an adjustable red dot sight and flashlight; an adjustable hop-up system; and a foldable stock. This item is not for sale in some specific zip codes. Specifications - Velocity: 200 fps

The Appeal of Airsoft Guns Due to the law and the cost, people cannot always own their dream guns. Airsoft guns, however, provide you with a realistic replica, allowing you to own a shooting (albeit nonlethal) version of that weapon. In fact, many of the weapons you often see in movies and TV shows are airsoft guns, thanks to the relatively cheap price tags and precise realism. The directors simply digitally alter the images to incorporate the muzzle flash, sound, and effects to mimic the real firearms. Generally speaking, most of the popular real-steel firearms have an airsoft counterpart, including the Heckler & Koch MP5 series, the venerable Heckler & Koch G3 battle rifle series, Colt M16s, Steyr AUGs, SIG 550s, FAMAs, AK-47s, M60 machine guns, IMI Uzi and Ingram sub-machine guns, famed pistols like Barettas, Colts, SIGs, and Glocks, Benelli M2 and Remington 870 shotguns, and sniping rifles like the PSG-1, M40A1, and Blaser 93R. Even Hollywood guns like the RoboCop pistol and the M134 Vulcan--a six-barrel Gatling gun made famous by the Predator and Terminator movies--have airsoft counterparts. The ability to own and play with your dream guns is appealing enough to many enthusiasts. The added advantage of taking these guns to a local playing field and "shooting" your best friends in a friendly competition is a hands-down selling point. There are countless clubs, teams, and organizations devoted to the sport of "waging war" with airsoft guns, known throughout the world as skirmishing. In essence, airsoft role-playing allows people to fulfill their fantasies, which (due to physical disabilities or circumstances) they never got the chance to do themselves. These people may be bankers, insurance brokers, secretaries, students, or computer programmers by profession, but for one day a week they can be Green Berets, assassins, SWAT members, Navy SEALs, or whatever else.

Great gun, missing accesories. xP July 6, 2007 J. Han 25 out of 26 found this review helpful
I recieved this gun today, its my first airsoft gun. The reloader thing was missing (it doesnt really do anyhting, so w.e). The gun feels great. Its heavy, just like a real one, and it feels good to hold. The different settings (semi, auto) work well, and the noise is really good. At first, I couldnt understand the directions very well, so I just shot blank rounds to hear how awesome it sounded. The folding stock works, and it makes it pretty compact (abt smg size) and it can still be fired without the stock, although aiming becomes a hassle. The bullets that come with the gun suck. they kept getting jammed and I thought it was the gun. In fact, I was about to rate this a 1 for that, but I tried some other bbs I bought, and they work fine. I reccomend buying other bbs therefore, bc the ones that come with it dont work at all. Also, the "mock silencer" is kind of useless. It doesnt do anyhting, and I noticed it actually curves a little bit, and the bullets dont shoot very accurately. It also makes the gun look kind of stupid. Dont be surprised if some accesories r missing, but dont worry, the gun works 100% w.o any of the accessories. Actually, I wont use them because they make the gun bulky and protruding, and the accessories are fragile. The scope doesnt do anyhting. It isnt electronic. xP Overall, this is a great gun. I would recommend it to anybody, as long as you buy extra bullets.
A 16 yr. old hunter's review February 24, 2010 A Shooter's Review (Maine) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
I just received this gun today, and it is my first airsoft gun. Although the shipping was as nearly as much as the gun itself, FedEx delivered it from California to Maine, and I still got it a day earlier than projected. It took ten days from the date I placed my order on Amazon.com to get my gun, and I love everything about it. All of the accessories came, and everything was in perfect condition with no signs of shipping damage. All of the accessories work except for the laser. The instructions showed a different model of laser and the cover for the laser's batteries didn't quite fit, so I just left it off. The flashlight works fine and is pretty bright. The red dot scope has a red cross hair with two settings of brightness. I adjusted it with the windage and elevation knobs on the side so that it was right on my front sight. Although the scope doesn't really help you aim since it is right on the front sight, the holographic lense still looks realistic and the red cross-hair is easier to see than iron sights. The battery was fully charged when I received my gun, and it was ready to go out of the box. Also, the scope came with an extra watch style battery, the size of a penny. The rail system on the gun is just like what you would find on any basic AR-15 style rifle, and installation is literally self-explanatory. I must admit that I was pretty skeptical about buying an AEG off of Amazon, but after watching some YouTube reviews and reading the reviews on here, which were right on the money, I decided to spend my Christmas giftcard on this gun. I just wanted to add a few more things. One, the review that recommended using .20 gram seamless BBs was correct. They fly very straight and are pretty accurate with the iron sights, no six o'clock hold needed. Second, the gun is very sturdy and has some weight to it, so just take care of it and it will take care of you. Lastly, the only thing that I don't particularly care for is that the magazine has such a small capacity, but it makes you a better shooter with limited ammo. Living in Maine I have grown up shooting rifles and shotguns instead of BB guns and airsoft guns, so this gun really surprised me with the quality compared to the price. I also recommend getting a Red Ryder BB gun if you want simplicity, quality, and fun for a good price. Overall, you can't go wrong with a Double Eagle M82, and if you have the money for something more expensive, don't get a toy gun. Instead, ask your dad to buy you a 12 gauge to go turkey hunting with.
OUTSTANDING!!! December 17, 2009 Sylvia R. Meehan (Baltimore, MD USA) 2 out of 3 found this review helpful
This gun really surprised me when i got it. I thought from the other reviews It would be a beginner rifle, far from. Although really simple and quick to get out of box and ready for combat,(no assembly required :D) this gun spits out those bbs like crazy. I have won several airsoft battles with this gun. Two downfalls are that there is one piece that keeps breaking(be careful with the stalk) it holds the butt in place but if you flip it wrong...CRACK it'll snap right off. Another downfall is how small the clip is. The gun can unload 30 rounds(maximum capacity for clip) in like 5 seconds of auto. If you already have a bb rifle or not i highly recommend this gun to anyone looking for a fantastic rifle.
