Product Description The Whisper Deluxe is a sharp-looking, sharp-shooting air rifle that incorporates ND52, a noise-reduction technology that makes it one of the quietest air rifles you can buy (52% quieter!). This spring-piston breakbarrel flings .177 cal PBA Raptor pellets at 1,200 fps (50 rounds included). Lead pellets will deliver about 1,000 fps. The 3-9x40mm scope has a standard reticle and a 1-piece scope mount. Features include auto-cocking safety, manual trigger safety, two-stage adjustable trigger, fiber optic front/rear sights and ambidextrous stock with twin raised cheekpieces. Special all-weather stock has checkered inserts in the grip & forearm! We measured the cocking effort and it was 35 lbs. Gamo lists it at 30 lbs., so it's likely that the cocking effort will diminish as the gun breaks in.... Click the ammo link for suggested pellets and the accessories link for glasses, targets and maintenance gear. The owner's manual states that the scope is mounted and bore-sighted. It is not.... Includes special stock with checkered inserts, unmounted 3-9x40 scope with standard reticle, 1-piece mount, fiber optic sights and noise dampener....
Amazon.com Product Description The GAMO Whisper Deluxe Air Rifle with 3-9X40 Scope, Mounts and PBA Ammunition is one of the quietest air guns available. Incorporating ND 52 noise-reduction technology, the non-removable noise dampener reduces noise by up to 52%. The velocity is an impressive 1,200 feet per second with PBA ammunition or 1,000 feet per second with 0.177 caliber match-grade lead bullets. Made of durable, all-weather black synthetic stock, this tough, single shot air rifle can be taken out in any kind of weather. It also has a ventilated rubber pad for recoil absorption. It features a manual trigger safety and automatic cocking safety system and has a base for mounting the 3-9x40 rifle scope. This is the best in high-powered adult air guns for small game hunting and pest control.

Awesome July 29, 2009 Robert E. Berrett (Orono, MN) 29 out of 29 found this review helpful
I read some conflicting reviews here, but bought the gun nonetheless. I can see why some people were disappointed (because they failed to read the instructions). This gun is totally awesome. With the supersonic PBA's it will crack, with subsonic (lead) HPs or wad cutters you will only here the air/spring. It is deadly accurate for 20-40 yards. So many reviews show neglect for reading the optics/scope instructions. Many screws are loose upon purchase for set up. Set it and secure every screw and you will have no problems. I have heard that buying this gun is a "crap shoot", although my neighbors followed my lead and allowed me to sight their guns--they work flawlessly. No better value out there!
Accurate and Affordable! October 12, 2009 Hunter Tom (Ames, IA USA) 13 out of 13 found this review helpful
This pellet rifle is easy to use and very accurate. It took a little bit to zero-in the scope, but after about 15 minutes of tuning it in, I have been amazed at the accuracy. Most of my shooting hasn't been longer than 50 yards, so I can't say much about long shots, but up to there it is easy to get 1" groupings. It is a little noisy with the Gamo pellets that come with it, but reportedly it is quieter with lead pellets, which I haven't tried yet.
PROS:
- Easy cocking mechanism
- Easy pellet loading
- Very accurate with scope
- Flat shooting to about 50 yds - possible longer
- All tools and mounting rings included for scope mounting
- Fiber optic sights are bright and clear if you don't want to mess with scope
- Amazon pricing is great for this pellet rifle!
CONS:
- Not quite "whisper" quiet using Gamo Raptor Pellets that come with the rifle
- Scope is shipped loose and not bore-sighted
- Takes some skill to zero-in at desired shooting distance, experienced shooters should have no problem, though
- Instructions for scope mounting and sighting are limited, may be confusing for inexperienced or young shooters
Awsome!! March 24, 2010 Breathin easy 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
I am very happy with this purchase. It is everything that was advertised. You'll have two options for ammunition; Gold and Lead. The gold goes supersonic and sounds just like a .22 caliber. The lead pelets are subsonic and, as a result, do not make the loud CRACK that the gold pellets make. The only sound that you'll hear when you use the LEAD pellets is the sound of the spring inside the rifle; and the slight THUD as the pellet impacts the squirrel. Those buggers sprint like deer when they are hit! My first one sprinted 20 yards before laying down. Have fun.
Oh, and this is a far cheaper way to maintain your accuracy during the off-season.
wow June 25, 2010 terry its got some power.. you wont be disappointed with it or eny other gamo air rifle. the gold pellets are really loud so buy some good lead if noise is a issue.
